I love music. I love discovering new bands, and although most do not surprise me when I find a group that I like from the beginning I get excited and try to listen and learn from them as possible. The "discover" a group for me is not just meeting a new Bandilla (good or bad) in their first or second album. Discover a group can also mean that, after learning of the existence of a group, later (sometimes years later) hear more about them and you realize that you love.
An example: despite having long heard of Cat Power in magazines or the internet, I reused to fall into the trap. I thought, ah ! another singer "bonitilla" that takes a hard, hit a song and the artist is now the world expected ... Like so many before it ... A day came in my car listening IMAGE 105.5 (sappy but that's it) and was about to start the program by Jorge Fernandez Menendez, who I love to hear, as well as having views very close to mine, every day puts a different disk and speaks of the artist in question - from The Cure, Radiohead to jazz, cumbia, salsa and bossa-well, the day begins your program with a beautiful song that struck me very much for the lyrics, the simplicity and sincerity of the singer's voice and the connection of music with everything else. Half a song starts to talk Jorge praising the song (called The Greatest ) but mostly praising the artist, nothing more and nothing less than the usual Cat Power. Arriving home I got the internet, I searched his records and a few months depues that day, I must say that her music is wonderful - particularly the feeling with which she sings, makes it stand out from all others.
I decided to talk a bit about the bands and artists I listen, and take as guide my itunes library (it's easier this way and not run the risk of forgetting any). I do not expect every band that talk is a Discovery for the rest of society (Led Zeppelin, for example), but I hope that if you read here about a band that are not familiar, at least given a chance equal and becomes your new favorite band ... ;)
